Guest guest
It is hard enough for adults to endure severe pain but I can't believe the medical people who allow children to suffer. My son had a skin graft to his ear drum and they gave him no pain meds, after surgery. They let me into recovery and he was crying. He was holding onto his ear. I asked the nurse why they hadn't given him anything and she said that she was afraid he might vomit. I demanded that he be given something immediately. He was definitely suffering and it was worth taking the chance of vomiting. At another hospital, my nephew had a hernia and he was in the ER. They were trying to push it back in place and he was screaming and writhing in pain. They said that "kids don't really feel pain" and they didn't want to give him anything until they were certain whether he needed surgery or not. I couldn't believe it. He ended up needing surgery. There was no need for all of that trauma. Lee
