Guest guest
Dear Forum, Please forward this invitation widely to Indian youth HIV/AIDS activists and to other forums, especially those reaching Asian youth. We now have 180 youth activists worldwide but not a broad representation of Asians. Thank you so much, Joya Banerjee (UNFPA HIV/AIDS Branch) E-mail: jb2026@...> Help Develop a Global Youth AIDS Coalition (GYCA): E-Consultation To begin forming a Global Youth AIDS Coalition, we seek the input and support from young leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS worldwide. On Monday, October 18, we will begin an e-consultation with any youth and/or adult allies interested in contributing to the formation of a Global Youth AIDS Coalition. This coalition was proposed by youth worldwide, including the youth attendees of the XV International AIDS Conference in Bangkok and XIV International AIDS Conference in Barcelona. The e-consultation will help us to: identify our needs as youth, to set forth goals and objectives, to brainstorm on funding and organizational issues, to create working groups with thematic focuses, and to identify key leaders and their skills. Facilitators will provide weekly summaries at the beginning of the following week. To participate in the e-consultation, please sign up to our " GYCA consultation " list-serve by sending a blank email to GYCAconsultation-subscribe@.... We will also conduct periodic online chats for those youth who have infrequent access to email facilities, announced on http://groups.takingitglobal.org/GYCAconsultation. We encourage you to reach out and get feedback from those who do not have email access at all by having " off-line consultations " and reporting back to the rest of the group. If you do not want to participate in creating the structure of this coalition, you will still be able to join the coalition as a member or partner after it has been formed. An announcement on how to do this will be widely publicized at a later date. Meanwhile, we encourage you to email Joya Banerjee (joya.banerjee@...) if you have any questions! Full details about the coalition can be found at: http://groups.takingitglobal.org/GYCAconsultation It is time for youth worldwide to work in solidarity to protect our bodies, our families, our communities, and our countries from the devastation of HIV/AIDS. Please share your valuable insights and expertise as youth leaders. Help us to spread word of GYCA by forwarding this invitation to youth HIV/AIDS leaders worldwide!
