Guest guest
An ISP is for children under the age of 3. At 3 they are to get an IEP from the local education agency. ISP is under Early Intervention Services. I cannot believe they would ask a child under the age of 10 to take public transportation let alone a child with a disability. I guess it could be used as long as they have an aide (someone reliable and trustworthy) to accompany her, but frankly, I'd flatly refuse stating it is inappropriate. mom to Bridget 9 ds --- DSheaks@... wrote: > i need some help here i have just recently started > advocating for my niece > she does NOT have an IEP she has an ISP...what's the > difference? also next > year she will be going to a new school which they > are saying the district > does not provide transportation for...she goes to a > private school and the > district is providing transportation right now but > they wont to the new > school...they want her to take public transportation > which she is totally not > able to do...can anyone help me please....and should > i ask the school for a > regular IEP instead of an ISP?? > transportation is the main problem.... > thank you in advance > Dana Mom to 3 monsters Adam 14, Andy 13 and 8 > w/ Down Syndrome > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > __________________________________________________
Guest guest
How old is your niece? ISP is usually for preschool or early intervention. School districts do NOT have to provide transportation to private school unless it has been found that the services the child needs can't be provided in the public school setting. The new school is private? Elaine ISP vs.IEP & transportation help please i need some help here i have just recently started advocating for my niece she does NOT have an IEP she has an ISP...what's the difference? also next year she will be going to a new school which they are saying the district does not provide transportation for...she goes to a private school and the district is providing transportation right now but they wont to the new school...they want her to take public transportation which she is totally not able to do...can anyone help me please....and should i ask the school for a regular IEP instead of an ISP?? transportation is the main problem.... thank you in advance Dana Mom to 3 monsters Adam 14, Andy 13 and 8 w/ Down Syndrome
