Dear FORUM,

The Legislators Forum at state level is being formed in most state

(In Kerala also recently this was done) at the instruction from the

Central Government. I think they are giving some funds also for

setting up office etc.

This is a welcome move so that we can get the political leadership

to get involved in the HIV/AIDs issue. But these FORUMS will not

function automatically . Civl Society Organisations concerned with

HIV/AIDS issue should carry out lobbying and advocacy with the

legislators on general and specific issues.
