Guest guest
Hi All I do not know if any are interested in this new product Kineret, which I believe a recently sent us the info about regarding the FDA's arthritis advisory's committee approval to treat patients with RA with this " protein blocking product " I have tried every DMARD out there and now find myself willing to try anything new to relieve the pain and crippling that is going on. So I wrote to the Vice President of Research at Amgen and sent results of recent blood work BAD!!! and told him I would like to be a candidate for research with Kineret or would like to be one of the first patients to try it when fully released. If anyone is interested in his response, I will be happy to share it with you Thank you for providing us with this very helpful info!!! Guest guest
Hi Tery So Kineret is the same drug you are trying in a research protocol now? If so, how are you doing? Of course I will let you know as soon as I receive a response. Why is it called Anakinra? is that the actual name of the drug and Kineret is the brand name? I would love to know how you are doing either way.... Thanks Joanne

Knock on wood, I'm doing good. I'm in a double blind study so we are not sure that I have drug. From my results my RD and my study nurse are " pretty " sure that I'm on the real thing. My joint count is down from when I first started, also less pain, all though I do still have flare ups. Not sure about the why's but the name will be changed when it is released. I have a link around somewhere about the areas where they are conducting research on Anakinra, I'll try to find it and send it to you.
