Guest guest
Hi So is a Beanie fan too. We used to collect them by the dozen back in the late 90's. We even had Humphrey the Camel once, which is now said to be one of the rarer ones. We used to save all the kids papers from school but they don't bring home too many anymore. It's like a nightmare getting to Kristi's planner to sign it. They get points if it is signed. This year is almost over but next year she going to travel to school lighter. Guest guest
Hi That's true. used to use one as big as a suitcase but he couldn't get it in his locker. He didn't have all the stuff in it that Kristi has but the bag itself was big. Some schools want the kids to bring see through book bags for security reasons Re: re: backpacks > > > In a message dated 4/26/2005 3:18:03 P.M. Guest guest
That reminds me of a funny story... Last week Noah kept coming home with a couple of " car toys " in his backpack. (You know, all the various Happy Meal toys and various other junky little tidbits,) Anyway, they have asked that he not bring toys to school, and I try really hard to watch him as he gets out of the car in the morning to be sure he doesn't have anything in his hand. Sometimes, he's just too quick, and he gets out before I can grab him, and you know how militant they are in the carpool line...if I actually got out of my car to retrieve his toy, I'd be " honked " to death! Besides, I'm usually in my PJ's...:-) So the other day when the aide brought him out, she told me his little scheme...She said he was surrounded by his harem (all the third grade mommies that look out for him) and one by one, he was pulling these toys out of the sleeve of his hoodie!! One of the little girls said, " It was just like a magician, they just kept coming out! " Once again...Retarded does NOT mean stupid!! :-) Karla in Texas Re: re: backpacks usually has a dozen or so beanie babies in his bookbag. If I can get him out the door with just 3-5, it's a miracle. As far as papers, he tears everything up before I get a chance to see them. Knock on wood, he's brought home papers now without tearing them up for a week. Since Tim is in Florida soaking up the sun and eating kangeroo meat, 's normal morning routine is off balance. My front door broke (screw came out and stuck in the door and I can't open it), so I had to figure out a way to get out through the garage without the dog and cat sneaking out behind him. I bribed him with 's DVD player (she's working on her wedding tan and spending some quality time with her dad before she leaves him for another man in less than a month) - so she won't know, lol. About the weight of the bookbags - does not have textbooks - he'd destroy them. The Sped person at the middle school informed me he would have them there. I told her (cause she wasn't really listening about tearing books up) that if he had to carry books home, I'd want an extra set just for home use. Guest guest
Once again...Retarded does NOT mean stupid!! :-) Karla in Texas No kidding! 's bargaining with me (and counting backwards) proves that. We had another evening where he took a bath and I told him only 5 beanies. He snuck in a few more and then asked me for 20. I said 5 and he said 19....all the way down to 9 which is how many beanies he actually had in the tub. When it got down to 9, we counted how many he had already and I just laughed- and so did he --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
Hi This reminds me of . We just broke him of the habit of taking toys to school. He has a huge collection of toys and is very attached to his rubber snakes, squid, stuffed frogs, etc. At first they thought they were cute at school but now they are kind of a nuissance to most. He still takes them to church, dance, etc. We have nicknamed him " Toy Store " and " Toy Story. " He used to take Tiger (Tigger) to Wal Mart but then one day dropped him down a hole and I didn't know it until we left. We never got that Tigger back but we bought a new tiger during our trip to East Texas this month. Kids can be really clever or sneaky when taking stuff to school. For awhile was hiding his snake in his sleeve so it didn't do any good to check his backpack. Dad to , Kristi, and (all three Down syndrome) and (Cri du chat) Husband to C. in Mo. (who will be home tomorrow night after 23 days on the West Coast; today is the 18th anniversary of the first letter I received from her in our mail order courtship and Friday is 16 years of marriage!) Uncle Daddy to and in Calif. (both Down syndrome) Re: re: backpacks > > > usually has a dozen or so beanie babies in his bookbag. If I can > get him out the door with just 3-5, it's a miracle.
