Position for Specialist in Blood Safety

Dear All,

A Public Health Consulting organization from France are looking for a team

leader/communications specialist specialized in Blood Donor Recruitment for

a HIV/AIDS Project; the job is located to Colombo (Sri Lanka) for 75 weeks.

Under the project blood transfusion safety has been identified as one of the

key components and financial support would be provided to the National Blood

Transfusion Service (NBTS) of Sri Lanka to implement following 2

activities -

1. Improving the blood collection system through promotion of voluntary non

remunerated regular blood donations

2. Promotion of rational use of blood and blood components in clinical

practice

The purpose of this consultancy is to assist NBTS in achieving its project

objective of -

1. Improvement of the quality and quantity of blood collection through

establishment of a safe and efficient system of voluntary, non remunerated

regular blood donations, and appropriate clinical use of blood

2. Assist in implementing this strategy by developing creative approaches,

producing materials and ensuring their exposure to target groups

3. Coordinate with communications strategy developed for other HIV/AIDS

related issues

4. Ensure effective monitoring of the impact of the strategy on program

objectives and if necessary revise the strategies.
