What I did tonight

Since I haven't done any soap all week I figured I'd better start

tonight. If I start tonight I'll get myself on a roll & continue all

weekend long. Like I've got nothing else to do!

Anywho! I made a batch of Mint Brulee using the wrong colors. It's a

combo of peppermint & creme brulee. I used the wrong green for the

mint, and the wrong tan for the creme brulee. That'll teach me to

" think " I know what I'm doing and not consult my notes before starting

something!

Next I made a batch of Sleeping Angel in plum mica. This is one of Sage

Meadow Sundries latest colors. It is awesome!!!! When I held it up to

the light, looking thru it is like looking thru a real plum. Okay, I do

realize that holding an actual plum up to the light I'm not gonna see

thru it!!! LOL! But I hope you get what I mean!

Then I made a batch each of Milky Way guest mold soaps in the shells &

botanicals. And wouldn't you know that I didn't consult the notes & did

the wrong tan on a few of them. Oh well! They look great anyway!

That's it for tonight. Not quite sure what I'm doing tomorrow.

Probably gonna work on the Sun/Moon guest soaps. I'm not going to use

blue for the background anymore, so I'm gonna toy around with black

mica. I'll have to see! Maybe some almond or hazelnut. Maybe do a

vanilla almond. That's not on my list of scents to combine, but it's an

idea! I've all of a sudden become more color combo & scent combo

happy. I'm just not thrilled with one color soaps anymore. I've done a

couple 2-toned and a few with layers. I like those better, more of a

variety & excitement to the soap. And who said soap was boring!

Okay, it's late (I know 11pm isn't late for some of you) and I'm

babbling, so I'm off to dreamland. I'll pop in tomorrow & remind

everyone of the Secret Santa!

Congrats to Terri!!!!

I bet you're going to get hooked now. I did more Pear molds tonight in

yellow with the green leaves on top and added avocado oil for extra

moisturizing. And of course I had to make another batch of oatmeal &

raspberry seeded soaps. I was going to go wrap soaps a while ago but didn't

have the ambition to get out of this here dang chair. (hehe)

Re: What I did tonight

I was a soaping fool today! I made 12 of the soaps for my new kids line with M & P and I finally got over the "I can't do M & P" !!! Yay happy M & P soap dance here ALL DAY!! WOW... the girl next door came over and you would have thought I had just invented soap! She fell in love with the cherry so I snuck one over to her this evening. I also did a great confetti type chunk thats also for my kids line and this too came out perfect! My son doesn't want me to sell any of it and the girls mom next-door snagged one for herself! I am the M & P queen!!! *Dances around house with crown on head... trips... falls... breaks crown" ok that didn't last long and I'm by far the queen of M & P but dang it I've tried and tried and even call myself "M & P challenged", but not anymore! and just for the day I felt like I was the queen of M & P .... lets see I first tried M & P back in 98 and it's taken this long to get anything that was nice looking!I even made one for myself today.... I had picked up a cool ice cube tray is cut gem shapes... cool 3D diamonds when I picked it up I had in mind of using it for M & P. I couldn't figure out how to use the 2 parts of the tray so I only filled the tops with soap colored in gem tones (only did 2) poured a bit of clear on a deep rounded oval and then set the gems in sort of tipped and on each other, poured in a bit more clear and then topped it off with clear colored with gold mica and it looks like 2 gems that have washed up on the beach... scented with ocean mist FO and I'm calling it my beach treasure! I'll only make this for me or for gifts..... I found doing this embed that I'm still a bit too impatient so I'll stick to the confetti type and the one color... even waiting for the soap to harden between batches was driving me nuts.... I either need more molds or need to be working on lotions or something else while I wait.I think the best part which made this so much fun was I used micas (Thanks for all the little samples again Colleen!!!) I mixed my own colors instead of just using straight mica and the best mix was an FO I got from Shaye.. it's almost the color of mercurochrome... that FO... sky blue mica and bright lemon yellow mica and I got this funky wild electric green color. It was like painting and mixing my own colors.... I used to tole paint and never bought all those fancy premixed colors... gimme the basics... white, black, brown, red, green, (though red and green mixed will give a brown it just wasn't a good base to start from) yellow, and blue and I could mix any color I needed.Ok enough of my day... I have a ton of labels to print up. I'm selling from the driveway on Sunday and will be finishing up stuff for that tomorrow.Terri... who just remembered she better load the camera and get a few pic's while I have supplies on hand for use on her soon to be updated web siteOur members maphttp://.homestead.com/locations.htmlOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Check out these great Molds!!http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htmAll posts to this list are copyrighted by post author.
