I have passed over 180 kidney stones which formed from years of having hyperparathyroidism, which was not properly diagnosed for many years. This causes me pain, from moderate, to severe on a daily basis. The stones have done a lot of damage to my kidneys, and their function is dropping off. The excess calcium that this condition puts in the bloodstream has also caused heart problems, hardening of the arteries, joint pain, and loss of muscle tone. My family has also lost three member with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Seems we have the hereditary version of ALS.
