Guest guest
Hi, Tim has banged around on the piano since he was able to sit up. I have been itching to teach him the basics for some long time now, We tried lessons when he was quite small but he wasn't ready. So today I went out and bought what looked like the simplest first piano book I could buy, even by the end of the book you are only just using 2 hands, its very slow going but ideal for tim (I hope). Anyway, he had his first lesson tonight. The keys are colour coded, the names of the keys are written in the appropiate colour on every key to make it more obvious to him. Tonight he learnt where middle c is and " hopped " from c to c, D to D etc up and down the piano. Then he played word games, BAG CAB etc. He was VERY impressed with his skills and to be honest so was I, I thought we'd have trouble just hopping from note to note but he caught on to the pattern very quickly. Not a music stave in sight and already playing music! It was worth the wait. Tomorrow we repeat the lesson, and no doubt for the next week or so before turning the page to play rythms on middle C! sue wong
