Guest guest
Ann, The trouble is, if we do not take this seriously(DC's in general) our professional identities will shrink and the world will eventually accomodate. I believe that there are a number of ways to approach this problem. If it were possible, the most potent solution might be to make it illegal to contract such that the identity given to us by the citizens of Oregon shall not be altered. Though with insurance reimbursement trends all of health care is tightening their belts, I don't really think other professions are actually being forced to change their basic identity. Another way to help is to develop a more in depth e-forum for e-rounds and case studies, or, regular case presentations in accessable locales. Say, monthly at WSCC, downtown Portland, Eugene, Salem, Bend, ????. Steve Lumsden Re: OBCE Press Release > > > > > > > > > > > > > , > > > > > > > > > > These are all good points. Guest guest
Steve: I think that is a great idea. If we keep seeing things other than NMS problems, we will be more confident and complete doctors. Guest guest
Jack, that's kinda what I was thinking. I just drove to Everett and understand the " bowels of hell " that you speak of! Guest guest
Ann, I think we all would welcome NMS cases that were interesting as well. I believe all that would be necessary would be to establish a simple guideline for presentation. To do this we'd just start an instructions form, push it around through the group and arrive at a reasonable set of guides and then take volunteers to present and schedule presentations. Once a month, twice a month? What do ya'll think? Steve Lumsden Re: OBCE Press Release > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > , > > > > > > > > > > > > > > These are all good points. Guest guest
I think it sounds great. Once a month to start with. I think most of us are overcommitted as it is. Let's try it out with a leisurely schedule. Ann Goldeen Re: OBCE Press Release > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > , > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > These are all good points.
