I've never heard of anyone having problems from stopping it abruptly.

When I stopped it, I had no problem.

How is your eye doing?

Has anyone who has gotten the METHOTREXATE had to abruptly be pulled off

of it? Are there any side effects harmful if it is just discontinued

Susie,

If you are having a serious adverse reaction due to the MTX, the doctor

would choose to have you quit cold turkey. It depends on the

circumstances, but I'm assuming he/she thought about this carefully.

From what I've read, the biggest risk involved with abrupt

discontinuation of MTX, if one has been on it for a few months or years

and it has been controlling one's disease, is a bad flare.
