Guest guest
Hi Rainy -- Is that how you got your email name -- Rainy west coast WA? Or is it your real name? Very nice either way :-) I live in . It's wonderful. I'm originally from WA state. Always thought was just a place tourists would visit....not a place people actually lived in! I'm very familiar with Vancouver, WA. My older sister lives there now. We go down about twice a year. My mother grew up in Camas and my grandparents always lived there. So we always visited Camas a couple times a year. Each July we have a big reunion at Beacon Rock with all the relatives. Fun time. -- Vancouver B.C....Re: [ ] Mauritius I've been there once, to Vancouver B.C. My boyfriend lived there for a while as a child and his parents worked at the University of British Columbia. His sister lives there now. What a beautiful place. Have you been to ? Oh, I'd LOVE to live there! Now that's a beautiful island! ~Rainy, who lives in the other Vancouver, down in WA across from Portland, OR [ ] Mauritius > I'm coming with you, ! Guest guest
Hi , Small world! On one of your visits we should meet! I sure would love to get my boyfriend to take me to again! We actually went up there for our anniversary, and stayed with a childhood friend of his. Here's the funny part, when I say we stayed with a friend of his I mean we stayed with him in his dorm room at the university! LOL. It was so funny. And instead of my going down or up to the girls locker room, I used the guys because it was right next-door to " our " room. I was in there drying my hair or something, alone at this point, and one of the guys walked in with just a towel around him. He stopped short and did a double take, then went about his business with me in there! LOL. It was funny! But when I showered, I made Ryder shower with me. Didn't want to be alone in there naked. They had private shower stalls. My Rainy name! I am so glad you asked. I am presently working on a genealogy web site, a work in progress about my family history, here is what I have written for one of my delightful discoveries: In 1995 I joined a local BBS (bulletin board system ~ a way of communicating with people around town on the computer, kinda like the Internet, but not) and chose the name Rainy for my online name. I chose this name because there was this woman where I lived who was a writer and her name was Rainy Knight. Since she was a writer, and I am a writer, and really liked the name, I stole it from her for my online name. It stuck and many of my friends know me only as Rainy, not even knowing my real name. In 1999 I went through my grandfather's Army papers and found a gold mine of information. All of his siblings, parent's names, birth dates and places. For a genealogist this information is priceless. As I scoured my grandfather's Army pages I learned his mother's name. My great grandmother, born in May 1891, Margarette Anne Raine. Her maiden name was a pleasant surprise! I didn't know of her name until 4 years after I chose Rainy as my online name. I now proudly use Rainy as my primary online name, or another variant if needed. Another funny part, my real last name is Hill. Rainy Hill. Giggle. Re: Vancouver B.C....Re: [ ] Mauritius > Hi Rainy -- Is that how you got your email name -- Rainy west coast WA?
