Guest guest
Hi Kathy, March will mark 2 years of my being on Remicade. Last year, in between each treatment, I was sick with something, but just about better in time for my next treatment or I postponed it and got it a week or two late. It worked out fine for me. This year I seem to be doing OK and not getting real sick. Last year by this time, I had lost my voice, gotten a sore throat (never have I had such a horrible sore throat as I did then), I was working on my second cold and my second time around with bronchitis. I usually get bronchitis once a year, so I am waiting for it to appear. Maybe that is why it isn't showing up. Or my vitamins are scaring it away. Anyhow, it sounds normal to me that you are still sick or get sick while on the Remicade as it does lower your resistance. I think coughing may be a side effect of the Remicade. I know that when I go in for my treatments, I am asked if I have been coughing. Along with having my lungs listened to while I breathe. Also, have you had a TB test done yet? It is now required for you to be on Remicade. As for checking you for Lupus, you'll have to ask your doctor. I asked mine about that, worrying like you I would imagine, and he said he checks me all the time along with diabetes. I think I'm really lucky to have such a wonderful doctor. Everything I had worried about, he was already on top of it and checking me. And he ALWAYS returns my phone calls the same day! I am here if you need to talk. Send anything to my private email as well as the RA list because then I will get it sooner, and to the list so everyone can benefit. I am way behind. How did your doc appt go? I'm sorry I didn't see this before. ~Rainy [ ] Question??????about remicade > > Just wandering if anyone out there has a constant cold or infections ? I am on remicade and every sinse my last infusion I have been sick. I have been on 4 different antibiotics and nothing seems to be working. Go back to my Dr. tomorrow don't know what they are going to do? Coughing alot . Wetting my pants alot( LOL ) I know thats probably serious but may as well laugh as to cry. Do you usually get so sick with the remicade or should I say after the remicade ///?? it has been a over a month now . I am due another infusion the 31 . No way I can take it and me so sick. it seems to be all in my lungs. Also do you know if they check you for lupus when they check for RA. I am just scared ..
