Guest guest
To go off on a slight tangent, this illustrates one of the reasons that the " food " must be eaten rather than a supplement. We just don't know enough about what accounts for the beneficial effect. So the destruction of the 'antioxidant' theory would not have to be inconsistent with the known benefits of various foods, especially vegetables. **If** this is the case then are ORAC values irrelevant? Guest guest
Health and nutrition's impact on same involve a very complex system with myriad interactions. We are barely scraping the surface with our current sense of cause and effect. Vitamins and nutrients appear important if we are deficient or overloaded to a point of imbalance. I find fault in general with the concept that aging or deterioration is a wear or use issue. Unlike simple machines we are strengthened by stress. Ironically we may even benefit from trace exposure to toxins while our defense mechanisms are strong. Much more to learn.. JR [ ] Re: Antioxidant Benefits (????)
