Guest guest
All, I did a quick search of the message archives and couldn't find any discussion about this software program (which Khurram Hashmi mentions on his CRON blog) which helps you design meal plans to optimize your omega6/omega3 ratios. http://www.cron-web.org/KH04.htm I downloaded the software, which is available for both Windows and Mac from this site: http://efaeducation.nih.gov/sig/kim.html Has anyone here used KIM? The food database contains information about the omega3 and omega6 contents of many foods. It's designed to help you make better food choices, although it's not user-friendly enough-- nor is the food database comprehensive enough--for me to routinely input my daily food selections. The terminology ( " long6/long3/short6/short3 " ) is downright weird, and the food database doesn't include several of the foods I use. I am interested in being able to design " recipes " for the foods I eat (for instance Trader Joe's flax cereal), but I haven't managed to figure out how to do it after dinking around with it for a couple of hours. If anyone here is more practiced at using the software and can offer hints, I'd appreciate an off-list tutorial. Thanks, Diane
