Guest guest
Hi all, This is what I have read regarding cinnamon EOs... the only one that is okay to use in soaps is the cinnamon LEAF. (Cinnamomum zeylanicum.) This one is not irritating. I have used it in several soap recipes and have not had any problems or complaints from users. And it smells GREAT! I mix it with orange, and I used it in my pumpkin soap at Halloween. Someone posted about cassia being problematic in soaps. Cassia is not the same species, it's Cinnamomum cassia, and is from the bark. It is sold as 'cinnamon' when ground, but gourmet cooks prefer the bark of the zeylanicum species. At any rate, we're not talking about the bark here, but the leaf. So, use your own judgment, and be cautious, and be sure to list this EO on your labels....
