Guest guest
Hi, I don't think my first message came through. I apologize if you do get the message twice. I have been adding non-iodized salt (what I had on hand) to my water prior to adding the lye as I has seen many post that recommend this for a harder bar. I have a spreadsheet of the properties of oils and under iodine it states that LOWER numbers result in a harder bar. I am hoping more experienced soapers whould comment on the use of iodized VS non-iodized salt. Does it indeed make a difference?? Or is it something else in the salt that contributes a harder finished bar? Any suggestions or personal experiences greatly appreciated! TIA, Sue
