Guest guest
Dear forum Members, Please read this article & give your valuable comments, with regards, Dr.JAYESh KOSAMBIYA E-mail: <jkkosambiya@...> ______________________ To, Project Director NACO, Dear Sir, In the state of Gujarat VCTC (Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centre) is functioning at every District hospital Same way PPTCT (Prevention of Parent to child Transmission) clinic at every Medical College level (at O & G Dept.) Looking to the present accessibility to the VCTC & PPTCT center we would like to name these clinics as “ Red Ribbon Clinic.” The only reason for this is that the beneficiaries availing the facility of VCTC is somehow concealed and non-familiar to the community Level. The present VCTC is actually doing “Compulsory Counseling and Voluntary Testing” (CC & VT) and at some places it is also known as Voluntary Counseling and Confidential Testing (VC & CT) center. In the state of Gujarat at Medical College level VCTC is known as “Vatsayan Kendra.” Next, the same is the case with PPTCT to remember the name itself is awkward to the paramedical workers and to the community at large. So, we suggest renaming these clinics as “Red Ribbon Clinic” instead of VCTC and PPTCT center with wider publicity for the larger benefit to community & the project itself. OR, we can only print symbol of Red Ribbon & write “ MAMTA Clinic”, print symbol of Red Ribbon & write “VATSAYAN Clinic”. Dr. V. V. Guest guest
Dear FORUM, This referes to the message Re-name VCTC as Red Ribbon Clinics. As, we are not providing care and support to PLHAs at these clinics. Red Ribbon Clinic may be misunderstood by PLHAs as ART centres.
