: I'm writing to you off list. Please refrain from sending comments such as below to the board. You can send off list if you like. We have tons of traffic now and the membership keeps increasing. If everyone does this, there will be chaos. I posted about this the other day.

TIA for your cooperation.

I'm asking EVERYONE to refrain from superfluous comments, not just you. (I sent you an apology for inadvertently sending this to the board. It was returned to me as " undeliverable " mail.) I am telling people both ON and OFF List to not post unless there's something important to say.

Please answer me OFF LIST (just as I intended to send to you off list). The other 1799 members of the group are not involved.

Here's my post of two days ago. I repeat that offenders will be put on " moderate " status for the greater good of keeping this a quality group.:

Dear members:

Please read and heed.

I just got back from a weekend away (not even 2 days) and there were 70 e-mails waiting for me ---- most (not all) from our fine group.

My point is this: if you have something IMPORTANT and new and ON TOPIC to tell the group, by all means post it! However if you are posting old news, trivia, joking around etc. please STOP and think: " would most of the 1800 or so members of the group be interested in this??.

If not, please either take it off list or forever hold your peace. There is enough traffic and noise here now that we have to worry about the group degenerating into utter chaos.

If I find people disregarding this, they could possibly be put on " moderate " status: their postings will be " screened " - and I don't like to do that but it will be necessary for the greater good.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Your long-suffering group owner.

What's wrong with the comment? I read many comments and musings from

posters here that post MANY times per day more than I do. I don't

appreciate your comments.

Do we know what the absolute risk was? And how much was lowered?

Could be 2 cases in 100,000 lowered to 1 case/ 100,000, in high TC men.

Could you elaborate on the value of the lumen increasing? Can we measure IMT,eg, periodically and determine the changes?

I wonder if it has been proved in people that have actually changed their lipids, whether the effective component was diet, exercise or drugs? I'm gonna guess diet and drugs over exercise.

Regards.
