adzoe,

Although you may be right that CR with ON is an oxymoron, the

distinction is made because we can quantify CR fairly precisely

by counting calories, whereas we only have a vague idea of what is ON.

There will always be dissenting voices by vegans if you say that

animal products should be an essential part of Optimum

Nutrition. The meat eaters will counter that our ancestors were

omnivorous and ate mastodons and gazelles. These arguments can

continue ad nauseum without ever reaching a definitive answer.

We can also argue about what is the optimum ratio of protein, fat, and

carbohydrate. Nobody knows for sure. There are the low-carb people

and the high-carb people, but no concensus.

I don't think that you can have a convincing web site about Optimum

Nutrition unless you have some very good scientific evidence that

supports your arguments. Your pages have a nice big rotating graphic,

but they are hard to read because of the lack of contrast between the

text and the busy background with the chick looking at the scale, the

flashing signs are distracting, and the self scrolling windows have

text where the reader cannot set the pace.

The material needs some references to make it authoritative or to give

it more credibility. Statements like " The supposed ideal weight for a

5'4 " female is said to be 127-136 pounds. This is claimed to be the

weight of the longest lived group of people. " brings up questions

like: Who said that 127-136 lb is the ideal weight? The normal BMI

range of 18.5 to 24.9 corresponds to 108 to 145 pounds for that

height. Also, who claims that this is the weight of the longest lived

group of people? To what age did they live, and where? Unattributed

general statements like that are classified as " hearsay " and generally

untrustworthy.

I wish you success on your project, but I know that it will take a lot

of work.
