You're biased Fran (ha).

If you put enough salt into it, spoilage is deterred also. One Dr friend claims to have a pkg of "totables" on his desk for > 5 yrs.

Check the bottom of the page:

"This page was posted on 01 JAN 2000."

The latest ref is 1998.

I've been suckered into reading that site many times, and I can't get past the anomalies in the first paragraph.
