Guest guest
Dear List Buds, I have reformulated my base soap as I do now and then. I decided to try using some soybean oil to cut costs. I also like to work with goat's milk. At the same time, I decided to use a stick blender because holding a drill for 45 minutes was not fun. The last two 25 lb. batches were awful. They did not seem to mix correctly and traced in five minutes. When I turned them out after two days they were full of liquid. It did burn my hands so it was water and lye. The few bars I was able to pull out has (looks like) goat's milk unmixed. A lot of the bars have a thin crust that peel off with liquid under it. Does this sound like a mixing problem or a soybean problem? I did have a slightly higher ratio of soybean than the other things. Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.
