Guest guest
Like many of us, I'm attending events with folks who are definitely not CRONERS. For example, this evening I'm attending an event held at a local high end burger joint (yes, there are high end burger joints), where the big draw is all you can eat burgers the size of your head washed down with tons of wine. How do you manage holiday events and the pressure to eat to the point of a coma?

Guest guest
4 oz of red wine per day (but no more) is supposed to be good for you. I'd recommend standing around nursing that glass for most of the evening. If you start off with a glass of water, switch to wine later, and then back to water, you keep your hands full, get your resveratrol, *and* you don't get dehydrated. I get a lot of flack for my diet anyway, so my avoiding burgers would be expected from my colleagues. I've learned that making fun of my own diet works pretty well. Hopefully there is something with vegetables on the menu? Or you can do like my daughter did at In n Out Burger the other day - she ordered one without the meat. I had to bite my tongue to avoid pointing out that the bun was pretty bad, too. In n Out will also serve burgers wrapped in a lettuce leaf for the Atkins crowd. Guest guest
How about pretending that you are recuperating from a stomach flu and couldn't possibly eat more than a few bites of something that won't offend your stomach? Then, eat before you go. And enjoy the socializing. > > Like many of us, I'm attending events with folks who are definitely not > CRONERS. Guest guest
Hi Bernadette: Various ways: A) eat less on previous days and on day of orgy. when attending orgy eat as much as I want of only the healthiest foods I can find. C) eat less on subsequent days. D) don't go to too many of them. If after going to one of these functions you end up eating 1700 more calories that day than you would otherwise have done, you will only add half a pound of real weight - 1700 is about half of 3500. (Your scale may say more because you have more in your intestines and you probably consumed a bunch of anti-diuretics - wine, salt, for example - at the festivities. But this will normalize in the next few days). Rodney. > > Like many of us, I'm attending events with folks who are definitely not > CRONERS.
