Guest guest
FYI. Dug this out: http://www.atkinsexposed.org/atkins/70/The_Latest_Get-Thin-Quick_Craze_Is_a_116-Year-Old_Born-Again_Diet.htm What this says I have found support for, ie, the body will convert fat to glucose, but it takes a while. Meanwhile the body will convert protein to glucose. I imagine if you could do it exactly right - not use up all your glycogen during exercise, Then wait for the liver to convert fat to glucose, ie, eat no carbos. You might be able to lose just fat. "And Hashim (Dr. Sami Hashim, director of the department of metabolism and nutrition at Columbia University's St. Luke's Hospital Center) said....."Oh yes, you lose some fat, but it looks as if you do not lose any more fat than on any other diet of equal caloric value." Like all the versions of the Banting Diet which have surfaced over the last 116 years. The Scarsdale Diet is likely to become popular and then forgotten." {I often slip into ketosis on an overnight fast, evidenced by foul breath, and urinalysis. Ergo, a high fat diet is necessary to get into that mode. Regards.
