Guest guest
to all who use or plan to use rice in a cloth bag to put on a sore body part or where heat is needed (like a cooler with hot food in it) be aware of what happens if it is over heated. i just did it when i was making yogurt. i put dry rice in a dry jar and heated it for 7 minutes. i figured this would make it hot instead of warm to keep the cooler chest warm on the inside for the yogurt to do its thing. i opened the microwave to discover that the rice had started to burn black and expand out over the top of the jar and all over the turn table. please don't laugh too hard. i don't want anyone to get hurt. nor do i want anyone to burn the house down by microwaving this too long. i just don't understand how dry rice in a dry jar in a dry microwave in a house heated by forced hot air gas heat can expand...... oh well. i will put this under a lesson well learned. bye all, wendy in pa
