Guest guest
Thanks for that, , I just got over the latest flu, having ducked the shots last year due to controversy. Six days, bad shix, IMO, and I think I acquired it at Sam's maybe off a shopping cart. Now the mask being nice and all, the hands collect shix from the cart, and you unconsciously scratch your nose or face or ears or elsewhere, all the time. So we do have a small bottle of "Germ-x" hand sanitizer to use on hands that come in contact with carts, but the mechanics of any sanitizing plan are suspect. Visualize picking out tomatoes,eg. Many others have picked those up before I put them in my bag with my hand. So I'll wash them before eating, but how do we keep the virus from getting in our home when we bring so much stuff in and have no clean room to run it through? Get the shots. Regards. [ ] chicken little redux I haven't changed my opinion just yet, and I find the recent government attention suspiciously distracting from other matters of state, but a good friend of mine has invested time and energy is starting his own virus of sorts where he is hopeful he can reach a lot of people with some common sense advice about how infectious diseases spread. So without further comment I offer a link to his essay on the topic of how individuals might prevent a pandemic.http://www.lacysinter.net/Mask.htmJRIn case he looks familiar and skinny, Lacy is an old friend who introduced me to the writings of the good Dr Walford years ago. If you read his essay and pass it along to more than one person you will keep his virus alive and help him in his perhaps Quixotic goal. Guest guest
I hadn't had the flu since 1953 when I got it twice - a farm boy subjected to the big city. I'll get one this week. But the real flu, IOM is more a problem than the coming crisis if it comes. We have another thing called St Louis something, which is also apparent here, but few cases. I figured out some good ways to help with diarrhea, flu or colonoscopy prep. With either the transit time is can be very short like 4 hours. So a gelatin drink will get there better than others, I think. But sugar is a no-no because of the gas it produces, and oil won't help, so that leaves me with corn syrup which is all fructose. A drink containing phosphoric acid, a little citric acid, (beginning to sound like coke? No.) I didn't find an OTC drink with those that I could use, IMO. They could work on a better drink, like orange or apple, with some phosphate, maybe a quick digesting sugar (hint - glucose). I ended up with Kool-Aid with not so much sugar. (don't use red) Regards.
