Guest guest
Yesterday (it was my birthday :-) my brother-in-law gave me a hundred year old (hard) soap, made in Switzerland!!! Can you imagine, one hundred years old and there was still a touch of honey to smell! The bar is about 400 g and has wonderful ornaments on the top and the back, including the name of the enterprise. - He told me that he had this soap from an older lady which cleaned up the house of her mother and she found there a box full of these soaps! I just wanted to tell you how exciting it was to get such a soap and especially that it was made here, where everybody suspects you a bit of making some poison cooking if I'm telling them that I make soap ;-) Has anybody of you ever get such an old soap? If yes, is there still a smell and how does it looks like? Best wishes, proud Franziska, owner of a hundred year old soap :-) -- Just A Perfect Day - The Soap Factory http://www.perfectday.ch
Guest guest
Hi Franziska, Belated birthday wishes. Loved your story. Nice to know that old soap doesn't necessarily go rancid too, even after a hundred years. Have you thought about getting that soap analysed somehow for ph or just as a matter of interest? Aren't you tempted to use just a little bit to see what it's like ;-) Whatever you do with it it sounds wonderful. Perhaps you could photograph it for your website.
