Malaria and HIV viral load

Dear FORUM,

It has been published in Lancet that Malaria worsens the HIV status.

It is because the immune system is getting activated during this infection and

thus the white cells in the blood increase, increasing the multiplication of HIV

and thus increasing viral load?.

A question in that case arises. In all the infections, there is immune response

in the body increasing the leucocytic count. Does it mean that in any infection,

the HIV viral load is going to multiply as in Malaria?
