However, it may be refreshing to at least some to reiterate the possible benefits of stressing the CR regime via ups and downs in CR and weight. It may have been that the moderate CR employed disallowed the full potential of straightforward, continuous CR. Maybe, the added stress of the yo-yo diet amplified the moderate effect. The system used was rather unnatural and might reduce the lifespan of the mice. The mouse mammary tumor virus was used only for expression of transforming growth factor-alpha.
