I do work in a school and have been told I could

present neurofeedback to the alternative High School

students. I have been given the ok to take it a step

beyond education if anyone was interested in

experiencing neurofeedback. I would need concent

forms for the parents to sign. I would appreciate

seeing what you include in your concent form also as I

prepare my own. You can fax me at 248 627-2326. Thank

Have you checked out New Visions School in Minneapolis, MN?

They use NF as part of their school.

Hi Jeannie,

Atkins and Pure Protein (if I remember right) both have about 20-24

grams of protein and around the same in carbs.

Atkins taste just NASTY though while Pure Protein ones are much

better.

Also mrsbishwits has a few baked goods recipes (cookies, bars)

featuring protein powder that are pretty good.

Hope that helps.

Mark,

It is helpful to all list members to remove all prior material in your response except the specific e-mail to which you are responding. For those who get the "Digest" format, failure to remove multiple e-mails in a thread is a major frustration. On the other hand, responding to a post (especially if its subject is "no subject") without including the post can make it difficult to figure out what you are answering.

I'm assuming perhaps you are responding to the thread about seizure disorders. Certainly the C3/C4 placement (if that's what you mean) has been in use since early Sterman work, though I have heard folks also say that you should never use cross-hemispheric placements for seizure disorders because you might "cause" the seizure to cross over (I think that was the argument). At any rate, if that is what you meant, I agree that C3/C4 is an excellent option for many clients.

Well, I'm here now. Funny story, though. I ordered half a cow from a local

farm. It's ready to be picked up at the butcher today. Problem being? I had

the kidney surgery last month, forgot when the cow was coming, and didn't buy

a freezer. So, I've been busy trying to find a freezer. Still waiting on

delivery, have to have it by 430, or my meat will thaw! LOL...See, you guys

just don't have this crazy excitement going on!

Chuck:

Hi... I am at quite a loss to understand how the government can dictate what

a person charges in the free market. The insurer has a contract with the

insured not with the provider and if the provider has a charge that has been

made clear to the injured patient, (insured) and the patient realizes that

he/she is responsible for the bill why are we being limited in our charges

in the free market ?

How did this get by the lobbyist?

Any of you attorney's out there shed some light, injunction?

Thanks

However, it is against the rules of the listserve to copy, print, forward,

or otherwise distribute correspondence written by another member without his

or her consent, unless all personal identifiers have been removed.

Dear colleagues:

HB 3668 was introduced in the Rules Committee the last (I believe) eight

days of Oregon's longest session in history. It was the baby of Rep. Alan

Bates (D) a chiropractic freindly osteopathic family physician in Ashland,

whom several of us met

with several months ago in Ashland.

It was introduced on behalf of the Oregon State Ambulance Association and

the American College of Emergency physicians. The bill raises PIP from

$10,000 to $15,000.

However the bill also states in Section 4 " A provider may not charge a

person who receives personal injury protection benefits or that person's

insurer and amount that exceeds the amount the provider charges the general

public or an amount that exceeds the fee schedules for medical services

published prusuant to ORS 656. 248 (this is the Worker's comp fee schedule)

for expenses of MEDICAL, HOSPITAL, DENTAL, SURGICAL, AMBULANCE and

prosthetic services. "

This Worker's Compensation fee schedule was then applied to ALL provider

groups and hospitals not just us! ALL the other physician groups were

supportive of this added piece of the statute ALL of them as were the trial

lawyers. We, the low folks on the political " totem pole " would have been

the only group in opposition to HB 3668.

As a consequence the reality is we had no chance at all of blocking this

legislation in Rep. Doyle's committee and

would have lost considerable political currency in a failed attempt to do

so.

The Worker's Comp Fee Schedule is not the worse fee level for the average

colleague in the field, and I might add that a comparison to

the reimbursement levels for those who are still in Axis or CHP vs. W/C

" pay " would tend to make the Worker's Comp fee scedule look just that much

better...and without the lovely " internal utilization review " panel

providers have

so much fun with.

ICE PAC was a sponsor at the " Oregon Summit " at SunRiver, Oregon which was

the big annual Democratic meeting, I attended the three day event and spoke

at length with several key legislators including Rep. Bates and Sen. Charlie

Ringo. I warned both that the next step for the carriers would be to

arbitrarily limit (12/30?) chiropractic care and/or physical therapy, Rep.

Bates made it clear that he was with us and would strongly fight any such

restrictions on either chiropractic or physical therapy.

So the take home message is simply this....we must at this point stay

absolutely diligent as the carriers are likely going to attempt to introduce

legislation that will allow managed care and arbitrary limitations to our

services. We must continue to build one on one relationships with our

legislators so we have their ears when it is time to lobby against such

anti-consumer legislation.

Currently we have 176 colleagues giving on a monthly basis to ICE PAC and we

have distributed nearly $13,000 the last two months to key legislators and

it is early not many other PACs are doing or can do what we are doing

(cutting $1000 checks to key legislators) now...this

early and we are making a name for ourselves and building friendships.

Those of you who are reading this that are not currently ICE PAC

contributors please consider doing so, there are three levels of monthly

giving; " Bronze " or $25 per month, " Silver " or $45, or " Gold " $85 per month.

With each monthly ICE PAC statement there is a newsletter from me telling

you were we have spent your hard earned money and key political news etc.,

etc.

Lastly part of our grass roots work is for colleagues to consider having

fund rasiers at their private home or club or local restaurant for their

local legislators. ICE PAC will pick up the expense of the function and

produce the invitations etc. Currently we have several of these sceduled

around the state but we need as many colleagues to do this as possible...it

leaves a lasting impression with legislators like nothing else!

Please dear colleagues if you wish to get active...donate to the ICE PAC,

learn how to host a fund rasier at your home etc., etc, please respond off

list

and I will help you.

I was wondering if a cap on personal injury lawsuits along WC guidelines of

250K or medicare guidelines of $103.42 were passed by a legislative

body....would that be constitutional ? Injunction issue?

Just a thought.

Too quiet for you? Maybe I should let Tim post ..lol!

I'm spending a quiet weekend - mostly with who, when no one is around,

makes me his best friend and constant companian. Later today, we are going to

clean out the kitchen cabinets :)

We've heard from Matt B. twice now. He's in Kuwait. He emailed and

attempted to call her yesterday. I spoke briefly to him - didn't want to waste

his time when I know who he really wanted to talk to :). Unfortunately,

did not have her cell phone with her when he called, but he did leave her a long

message. He moves north in about 1-2 weeks. He told to go ahead and

start sending care packages - so we'll mail out the first one this week.

Marisa,

Hi! Welcome to the group. I enjoyed reading your intro. Sounds like you have

your hands full, girl! I can relate to the frustration, and the loneliness...

Although I feel I have found alot of support here and elsewhere in recent

months. Hope you end up feeling the same. How did you find this group?

So you are interested in raw dairy and good meat? Where have you looked

so far?
