Guest guest
Thanks all for your responses But now another quick one I made my first batch of soap today from the following recipe by Elain White Pure Soap Mink oil Shampoo 16 oz weight coconut oil 1/2 cup mink or castor oil 2.9oz which I had to convert into grams which worked out to be about 87g 1 cup water Oil room temperature. Mix and use lye when water turns clear. Put all ingredients in blender. Floow the instructions for blender soap. Don't let this soap . Process until the mixture is smooth (no oil strwaks) and pour into moulds Leave in moulds 2 days Freeze soap 3 hours to release it from moulds. Age 3 weeks. My query - the soap a) turned a pink colour while mixing in the blender I had barely strated to blend when it looked like what I understand tracing to be (when it leaves solid pattern as it is dropped back into soap etc.) I stopped and poured it out immediately but it was very thick and looked like hand cream only minky pink. Is this how it is supposed to look ? Is it supposed to turn pink? If this is not right, does anyone have a recipe for soap using only coconut oil and or castor oil as these are the only ingredients I have at present and can't get hold of veg fat and olive oil in South africa costs the earth also does anyone live in SA and know where I can get hand soap dispensers at wholesale prices? I know this is an involved one but please help Regards Debbie
