Guest guest
Hi folks: The following is from the NHLBI Health Information Center: " " Study investigators recently reported the lifetime risk of hypertension to be approximately 90 percent for men and women who were nonhypertensive at 55 or 65 years and survived to age 80-85. Even after adjusting for competing mortality, the remaining lifetime risks of hypertension were 86-90 percent in women and 81-83 percent in men " . The above quote was taken from page 8 in the PDF file of the Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC 7) on our web page at: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/hypertension/jnc7full.htm. That information was derived from the Framingham Heart Study. For additional information from this study, you may view our web page at: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/about/framingham/index.html. " I wonder if the same will apply to people on CRON at age 85? Perhaps JW's BP is simply a function of age? Rodney.
