Dear eForum members,

I have traveled far and wide and interacted with all different classes of people

in India and sadly I have noted that in almost in every case, women are not

heard in preference of her way of having sex. But strange it may appear, this is

also true that it is not that the male is dominant but women just do not

exercise their choice and would not insist her ‘prince charming’ to wear condoms

or ask him to undergo any tests to diagnose HIV/AIDS.

We have a VISION for an India-wide ‘Gathering of Women’ for her empowerment in

all towns, villages and cities as one of the key component in my project and

would ask all women who are concerned about their own as well as health of

society to take up this as their social and moral responsibility to connect.

Such events shall ultimately merge and support HIV/AIDS related and women health

problems at all levels.

There will be village level gatherings heading for block level assembly and

likewise block level women groups joining in districts, states, regions

eventually covering all states in India. Just imagine- a massive outpouring of

women in tens of millions in India, on to the streets on one particular day.

We, need support of one and all, specially women friends, organizations, NGOs

and Institutes related to women activities on these events for women’s sake and

for the sake of our society's tomorrow. We intend making Gathering of Women

Events in India a routine matter for a comprehensive and holistic healthcare &

development of women and control AIDS endemic in India.

Women friends are gently reminded that India has left behind Sub-Saharan Africa

in number count and we are now # 1 country in the world where PLWHA have more

than anywhere infected AIDS endemic with almost 42% of HIV/AIDS victims in India

being women.

Women be urged to step out for their active participation in various fun filled

development oriented volunteer activities in all towns of India. Please spread

this messge far and wide for all your friends dear members of this forum.

If you can pass on this message to as many women organizations or individuals

please do this. Remember, India has just overtaken Africa as far as the number

of HIV/AIDS cases is concerned. My own personal interventions in hitherto

unsuspected regions revealed glaring gaps in reporting the HIV/AIDS cases

honestly.

Remotely located, even village communities are getting infected and the scale is

beyond our imagination.

We need the support of one and all including all women organizations in India to

exhibit and gather showing strength of togetherness with a purpose!
