Guest guest
Hi #2 "After almost a week now of peeing like crazy, I can see what my broken ankle looks like! Those diuretics sure took a heap of pounds off me quick ;-) It's nice to breathe easier and see a few wrinkles on my skin!! See....wrinkles are GOOD! It means I don't look like a microwaved sausage about to pop ;-) Without the edema, my broken leg feels much better, too." LMAO @ the microwaved sausage!!! From one who has had dislocating knee caps since I was 12 I totally relate! You dont have me convinced though that wrinkles are good?? lol Am glad your leg is feeling better. Is it in plaster? "When I moved here 14 years ago, the original house was 14x28ft and all underground, with part of the dirt terraced away and some windows peeking out. Now it is 24x48ft with a 12x48 ft solar greenhouse all along the south side. The greenhouse is part of the house and sticks out of the hillside. About 2/3rd's of the roof is sod...underground. The newest addition is a metal roof and my computer/sewing room addition has a metal roof with three big windows. We live back in the woods, so when I'm at the computer, I am in the woods ;-) I often see deer, moose, turkeys and other interesting sights while sitting here ;-) The newest kitchen/dining room addition has windows at the east and west ends, plus a whole line of south-facing clerestories, so we actually have LOTS of light ;-)" I was going to ask you about the light, wondering if you had windows. It must be so serene to watch the deer and wildlife. Sounds blissful. "This will be the farm's twelfth year as a CSA...community supported ag farm. We are one of the oldest in Vermont and the US ;-) CSA basically means I grow a huge garden and each week pick everything ready and deliver it to the shareholder's kitchen. The most I ever did was 40 families. At the end of summer, I gave the running of the garden over to two twenty-somethings who are supple and energetic. They will do the 2 1/2 acres of raised beds this coming season. These folks came to me as WWOOF'ers....Willing Workers On Organic Farms. My farm is listed in the international directory, so we take in travellers from all over the world who want to spend a few days on a farm in exchange for weeding or some other help." That is so cool!!!! :-) "I have been sick for a very long time and keep trying to find ways to stay active without doing much ;-) Stuff like this REALLY helps!! In the winters, my daughter and I usually travel all over the southern US and into Mexico. After putting over 350,000 miles on my 1989 pick-up camper, it finally busted this summer ;-( I shouldn't complain....it was awesome ;-) Well...I'm too poor to buy another one right now, so we are staying home this year. Just as well....my daughter is 17 and has a very nice boyfriend that she would probably miss ;-) Every day wishes we were on the road, but right now she is still at her boyfriend's relatives, and has been for a week. The mom keeps emailing me and apologizing for monopolizing ....but they like her and don't want to give her back! Steve, the boyfriend, doesn't go back to college until the 15th. Hmmmmm....I guess I'll have to take a # and wait ;-) " Are you well enough to travel? "The permaculture project is part of a SARE grant I am applying for.... " Good luck with it all, sounds facinating!!! When will you hear back? "I definately can't live without CHOCOLATE!!!!! " Have just gone *NO CHOCOLATE* (again) for two days now!!! Am determined this time not to go back to it!!! (I still have low fat icecream though otherwise I would NOT last!) "Thanks ;-) There are more pics than you might ever care to look at...but they are there for those with nothing better to do ;-) I was too yucky sick to moan online the last few days.....now I hope I feel too good to do it ;-)" Sorry to hear you have not been feeling very well. I have a terrible memory (blames the drugs - or nerys! lol) what is wrong with you agian? Lovely to talk to you! And hope you are feeling better :-) Happy new year!
