Hello everyone!

I'm not sure where to begin. First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Second, I would like to apologize in advance it this letter offends anyone.

My name is Carla. My mom (54 years old) was just recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Within just 2 days her entire life changed. We took her to the hospital emergency because she wasn't feeling well. The day before, she was on her way home from a physical for a job she was to start Dec.1st and she couldn't remember how to get home, the police had to help her. That night she was trying to read something and she could see the words but was unable to comprehend what she was reading. She had lost weight and was weak. We never expected to hear what the doctors had found. They said she had a very large tumor and numerous others on her brain as well as her lungs. Later testing showed more tumors on her liver and ribs. They operated to remove the large tumor on her brain and are treating the rest with radiation and chemo. She has lost vision in her right eye. We had to move her out of her apartment. She will no longer be able to work (she has been a R.N. for over 20 years and an LPN before that), live alone or drive. She has lost her independence and her privacy. She was not working at the time this happened. The past couple of years she has been moving from state to state trying different nursing jobs (she always wanted to travel). She just moved back to Ohio to be close to family and start a new job, and then this happened. She would have started a new job in a few days. She has no health insurance or life insurance. What money she had in the bank, she had to use to pay some of her bills. She has applied for Social Security Disability but they have a 6 month wait before she can get any money if she is accepted. She doesn't think she is going to make it that long. Her one wish is that she will be able to plan and pay for her funeral arrangements as well as pay back those who have helped her with bills. I wish I could pay everything, but I can't. Her only wish is that she can die with dignity. My mom has always been a very giving and independent person. She said she doesn't want to die feeling as though she was a burden on anyone. I tell her all the time that no one feels that way, but that is how she feels.

I have come to you to ask for your help. I would like to start a fund raiser in my moms honor to try and raise some money for her so that she can have her one wish come true. Every dollar that we can get will make a difference. I know that if she could plan and pay for her funeral arrangements and maybe even pay some people back that it would give her great peace of mind.

I was hoping that I might be able to find someone willing to help me or tell me how to start a fund raiser for my mom. I don't want to loose my mom, I can't imagine my life without her. I pray all the time that I will wake up and this will have just been a horrible dream and my mom will be healthy. I pray that they will discover the miracle cure for cancer (I lost both my grandparents to cancer also) so that my mom will be with me for many more years. But just incase my prayers don't become a reality (I don't want to think about that, but I have to), I would love to know that I was able to grant her final wish and with your help maybe I can.

I am going to include the post office box number that I got especially for my mom at the bottom of this e-mail. I hope there is an angel ^i^ out there for my mom. Please keep her in your prayers.
