This is an MLM product, which means you should take the

'testimonials' with a large grain of salt, as the testimonials

are coming from the distributors themselves (the very ones who

will profit from YOUR use of it).

The negatives about Spirulina all pertain to CONTAMINATION,

not anything inherent to spirulina itself.

Dear Vilik - please mention the negatives regarding Spirulina. I've heard only

one -- that it's got

a lot of iron. Currently, I take a bit of Spiriulina, and in addtion 3 grams

daily of Chlorella.

For obvious reasons, these products must come from quality providers.

BTW, you might check www.vitaminshoppe.com and compare prices with GNC. They

are 30% off this

month.

Kindest regards,

Ken

Re: Dr. Schultz's superfood

I have some resistence to spirulina. Have read too many negatives.

Vilik, With the track record, that Dr. Schulze has, I know that he would

have ONLY the very BEST ingredients, especially since he works with

people, whom he calls the " Walking-Dead " , take it to HELP REGAIN their

HEALTH!! Besides, I've done business with his American Botanical

Pharmacy and he is so STRICT about his ORGANIC Herbs, that he will

TOTALLY STOP production, if he can't get the very BEST quality Herbs!!

Even if it means NOT having a WHOLE Formula available for a month or

MORE, because there's a problem with just ONE Herb in that formula!!

Now, those are very HIGH STANDARDS, and I, myself, have seen very, very

few people have those kind of STANDARDS TODAY!! Enough said!!

one of the hawaiin islands? damn about that contamination! if i ever

have a daughter, Spirulina woulda made a nice name.

First of all, Happy Belated Birthday, nne and Terry!

Welcome Vicki!

I want to commend Becky for her wisdom and advice on

making soap. Thank you, Becky, for stepping up! Soapng

is such a " fun " thing that sometimes we get too lax with

precautiions that need to be taken! I would NEVER put my

tongue to a bar of soap that wasn't SEVERAL days out of the

mold. Yes, I have gotten stung! OUCH! nne, I hope your

tongue is ok now! A lye sting/burn is awful and something to

really be avoided!

As far as using your soap pot for cooking goes, I know this

may go against the grain, but, yes, you can use it if it is

stainless steel. If it is washed thoroughly, there is no reason

why you cannot use it for cooking. Stainless is not porous,

so soap cannot " hide " in it. Also, for those of Scandinavian

descent, have you ever eaten " lutefisk " ? Well, guess what?

Lutefisk translated means " lye fish " . Yuppers, they soak the

fish in lye water...yeah, I do suppose the solution is weak, but

lye nonethe less!

OK, here is a recipe out of my files that I personally use for

my soap, and tweak it some from batch to batch.

32 oz. Olive Oil

16 oz. Plam kernal flakes

8 oz. Cocoa butter

4 oz. sweet almond almond oil

4 oz. shea butter

Since I do not have the recipe right in front of me, run this

through a lye calculator for the water and lye amounts. As an

aside, I use Palm Kernal oil or flakes instead of coconut oil,

because I can tell if coconut oil is in soap because I get little

tiny itchy " bumps " on my back. Not an allergy, per se, but

drives me crazy. I also use the cocoa butter in lieu of palm oil

as it is very moisturizing and gives the bars great hardness!

One more comment before " closing my book " ....hehehe!

When using the Milky Way Molds...

As Becky said, use Saran wrap on the molds to prevent soda ash.

I have this really dowdy looking old cooler that I use for these

molds. Once I pour all the soap up, I gather a few pieces of

cardboard. Layer the Milky Way molds, cardboard, MWM's,

cardboard, etc. Close the lid on the cooler and remove the

molds once they are completely cooled. Works like a charm.

The biggest complaint I have heard about these molds is that

the soap looks " funny " because the edges didn't gel and the inner

parts did...The cooler method will make the entire bar gel and

the soap looks wonderful.

Well, back to my little corner...

Kae
