Guest guest
INR can fluctuate and it takes some time to figure out the right dose. One thing he can do is eat the same amount of green vegetables every day. Green vegetables provide vitamin K, the clotting vitamin. If he eats a lot of greens one week, then the next week doesn't eat much of them, his INR will fluctuate. It's important to be absolutely consistant with this, and also very important to take his dose of coumadin on time. Let the doctor regulate the dose. I take 5 mgs a day and 7.5 on Monday. I eat large amounts of green vegetables because I'm on a weight loss program. My INR fluctuates between 2.3 & 2. Good Luck, charade799@... wrote: OK, here we go. In March had internal bleeding due to the blood being to thin. They took him off the plavix and the asprin. He was fine with his INR for April and May. In June he dropped from a 2.5 to 2. Today I had 2 doc's calling that his INR dropped again and he is at 1.5, I have no idea what the next step is. One doc wants him to go to hospital for complet workup. No way. The other wants him to go from 4 mg every other day to 4 mg every day. Can any one give me any ideas as to what is going on?
