Guest guest
"When I was diagnosed with SLE my tests had come back negative also. My Rheumy knew I had it by all the symtoms, I was put on plaquinill . I had been on the plaqunill for over a year and a half before my test's came back positive for SLE(Lupus). He said a person can have Lupus and go for years before the test's actually show positive for it as it is so hard to diagnose." OMG - Really? My immunologist has tested me for lupus 10 times I found out. Never knew he had even tested me for it lol. He mentioned it on Thursday when he put me on plaquenil, saying that he often put people with lupus on it combined with Imuran I was on plaquenil before but it did nothing. Is anyone here on plaquenil & Imuran together? Has it helped you? But this is wrong... These are immune supressants usually given in high doses after transplant surgery. They are carceogenic, meaning they can cause cancer, but they are not chemotherapy drugs. Chemotheraphy drugs Azathioprine, (Imuran) Cyclophosphamide, (Cytoxan) Effective patient-physician discussions regarding the selections of medication, its possible side effects, and any changes in dosage are important. I read the symptom list that you sent and I have all of them. I guess though that they are very common with all AI diseases. The rash though, the butterfly rash is specific isnt it? Hmmm ... how many people here have lupus? What do you live with? Love Aisha (the curious) Painful or swollen joints Unexplained fever Prolonged or extreme fatigue Skin rashes Low blood count Chest pain with breathing Red rash or color change on the face, often in the shape of a butterfly across the bridge of the nose and cheeks Sensitivity to the sun Unusual loss of hair Pale or purple fingers or toes from cold or stress Miscarriages These signs are more important when they occur together
