Guest guest
> On a totally different angle, did he have blood work? **yep and I never recieved the results, I am going to ask for all of our results as I am going to change Dr's soonish, so will make sure that I get everything before I do that. Unbelievable, arrived yesterday for the appoint. and the referral wasn't there, so they rang for it, and when it arrived the blood results weren't there, I only remember that the ANA was 1/80 (sounds familiar) The allergist/immunologist wants to test him for some strange bacteria that is known to precipitate Stills disease, (am about to do some research on this, as I don't know much about it) seems that both that and Rieters are the most likely, and evidently Reiters doesn't always show up on the test, only in about 60% of cases. Jai did come back negative (HLA b27-neg) and I was told in Sydney that he didn't have it because the test was neg. I was also told that it never occurs in children, and that is evidently not true either, I found out recently. Amazing that the Syd childrens hosp. could be so damn bad!!!! Escpecially as they had us there for a week, and still sent us home with nothing (Zeigler said it was nonspecific urethritus and would go away by itself, yeah right, well it is back again assholes!!!) Did they look at organ function? ***nope, only did a scan on the kidneys pre and post voiding, but did it when his symptoms were not there. Did they check thyroid or any other pituatry based things? **not sure, need the test results, will ring on Monday for them. The guy I just saw wants some bloodwork done, but wanted to get it all done at the same time, so said he would ring me on Monday after having a think about it over the weekend. He said that it is obviously systemic, and AI, it is just a matter of working out which one! He did mention reactive arthritus. He has all the symptoms of this, will have to do some research and see what I come up with, based on the info I got regarding Reiters and Stills. Jai's dad's cousin had Stills. I thought that was interesting though it's getting a bit distant generationally. Did they culture his urine? 24 hr urine test? etc... (more random thoughts) **not the 24 hour one, though I suggested it at the time, they decided in all thier wisdom that it wasn't necessary. They only did they usual dipstick in the urine trick which came up clear. > > " I also told him that I wanted to see an allergist to rule out that one, as all of his symptoms could be related to a bad allergy (mucus membranes inflamed, so gut and urinary tract involved, it is a long shot, but I want it ruled out > before we start looking for the obscure AI's, which my Dr seems sure > he has) " **all allergies were ruled out on the basis of his symptoms, the allergist is also an immunologist and used to be a rheumatology registrar, so was pretty knowledgeable, I was actually quite initially impressed with him. He spent an hour and a half with us, and we will see what he comes up with. I was interested that he proposed to actually do some research over the weekend and get back to me on Mon. We will see...... Glad to see you have become a demanding bitch like I am WHOO HOOO!!!! **yes, well I am fucking sick of all of this, it is just tooooo much for all three of us to be sick and no diagnosis!!!!!! > I've sent you the details. I keep his name off the list. **Thanks honey :-) And as for whipping you - well I would but you'd like it wayyyy too much ;-) **Oh baby whip me beat me! LMAO!! ta ta! :-)
