Guest guest
State lacks AIDS drugs OUR CORRESPONDENT Jamshedpur, May 20: The state lacks anti-retroviral treatment (ART) facilities to treat patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. It also does not have medical professionals who can give information about the availability of drugs. These facts were highlighted by officials of Australia-India Council (AIC), an inter-sectoral collaboration providing technical clinical training to doctors, lab technicians and paramedics working for HIV/AIDS control programmes. Alison Duncan, chief pharmacist at Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, who headed the three-member AIC team, said, " The state does not have ART drugs needed for treatment of HIV/AIDS patients. " Duncan was here to impart training to nurses and lab-technicians to control the menace. http://www.telegraphindia.com/1050521/asp/jamshedpur/story_4767662.asp
