Guest guest
hey stacey i can not even try to imagine what you have been through in your life, but i have also had my run of really sh!tty luck... i was perfectly healthy until dec 2001... went to gym on 26th and ended up in hospital with a huge myocardial infarction (out of the blue)... got some stents... damaged my heart badly, lost about 30% output... and things just went down hill from there... i have since busted up my shoulder in a motorbike accident, had a disk removed in my lower back, broke my foot when i missed stepped a two inch step at a friends back door... and this always seem to happen around christmas time... and now of course... the icd... it does seem to keep coming, but from what i can tell you are quite a positive person, and i am sure you will be ok... i used to be very depressed about all the stuff that happened to me and how bad my health had gotten... what got me through all of this... the love, support and prayer of my family... and i have a great sense of humor... hehehehe... thats a great help... Good luck with the specialist, hang in there...
Guest guest
Hi Stacie, I am so sorry, I know what back pain can be, and it can be unbearable! I had spinal fusion about 5 years ago, I also have spinal stenosis, and had 2 ruptured discs that put the spine, bone on bone. It took a long time to recover, and I had lots and lots of physical therapy, but I have to say that I did have a good outcome and feel so much better. Any surgery can be terribly frightening, try not to worry, and hopefully the Dr. can explain what exactly has to be done. I sometimes feel that when things are bad, they can get worse and it isn't fair! Please try to hold your chin up and take one day at a time. Medical conditions can be terribly frightening and you just don't know where to turn sometimes. I will be praying for you and your care. Seem as though it is the same thing with our hearts, get the best specialist for the job. I had 2 friends, one most recent has osteoporosis, he dropped to his knees after picking something up and couldn't move. He fractured his lower spine. To make a long story short, they went in and put some kind of cement in there and fixed him up...bad new is the osteoporosis, very porous bones, he has no density left so now will take his Boniva, they have meds to prevent this. Another friend younger than me had hemmoraged disc in neck. She was referred to a neurosurgeon and they went in through the "front" of her throat and put a plate and she is great, recovery was quite a few weeks and neck brace extremely important after but just to tell you they can do miracles. I on the other hand am in physical therapy last two weeks with my neck, thought it was ruptured as can't stand the pain. I have spurs and not much left in tissue between discs but they do not want to do surgery so I was glad, just doesn't seem to help with therapy a lot, Pain stops but comes back. Good luck, think positive.Judi off topic helalth update ! one qestion does the bad luck ever change to good ? this is a bit off topic as it dont deal with the heart but DOES deal with health ! but i recently was dignosis ed with spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spine ) ostopyes ( bone spurs ) and hemrodic disk ( ruptared disk ) servle of thin me the middl eof my back and ostoarthiris iof the spine !
