Guest guest
Hello - - I've rarely posted here, but I've been hearing from all of you since last September, shortly after having an ICD implanted in Michigan. I'm now retired and travel full time with my partner in a 5th wheel trailer around the country. (I'm now in Florida for a while.) I just happened to be near Ann Arbor when I passed out and, with a fairly recent diagnosis of cardiomyopathy, etc., it was decided to have me "join the club." While there for a 6 week follow-up, I was given a copy of Noble's book, One Beat At A Time. You may know about his story, that he started having serious heart problems at a very young age in Michigan and was one of the early recipients of an ICD many years ago. In 2005, after many subsequent cardiac events and several more ICD's, he wrote his interesting and compelling story. According to his web site, he's now about 32 years old and is working in the ICD field assisting with/advising on implant procedures, etc. for a medical device company. (His website is www.matthewdnoble.com) He is an inspiring writer and now gives talks around the country to increase awareness of sudden cardiac death. Because my space is limited in our trailer, I can't hang on to books. So I'd be happy to send my copy to anyone here who would like to have it. Write to me directly; first requestor gets it mailed to him/her. Bill onVote for your city's best dining and nightlife. City's Best 2008.
