You can also check online for a list of providers who accept it. Basically the way it works is you present your card (or member #, your regular dentist also would keep the info on file) when paying for the service, and the provider charges you a set discounted rate - usually around 20% lower but I think I saved more like 40% on my root canals - which collectively was at least a couple of thousand $$.
