- I ditto what Adam has said. I have had three ICD's over the

last 10 years and my same set of leads, but I have discussed the lead

replacing with my surgeon as I will be up for replacement sometime in

the future and as young as I am want them removed now vs later when I am

that much older. Find out how many lead extractions they hvae done -

how they do it, and ask how many patients they have had to " open up "

when the lead removel doesn't work the way it should....

Be as educated as you can when you meet with the Doc.
