Carbohydrate isnt the only macronutrient that raises

insulin levels. The digestion of protein also raises

insulin levels.

Here are some examples...the first numbers is glucose

and the second is insulin

(Glucose and insuling numbers are scored as a

percentage)

All Bran 40 32

Porridge 60 40

Brown Pasta 68 40

Brown Rice 104 62

White Rice 110 79

beef 21 51

fish 28 59

You can see the rest of the results in the study.

Notice, that beef and fish raised insulin levels more

than porridge and brown pasta

The main point i think here is that the GI or the GL

or any measure of the " glucose " response is NOT a good

indicator of the insulin response of the same food.
