SAATHII: Solidarity And Action Against the HIV Infection in India, in

collaboration with Alliance-Francaise of Madras, is organizing a three-day film

festival Nov 29 - Dec 1. in conjunction with World AIDS Day 2004.

This year's global theme for World AIDS Day is gender inequality and its role in

fuelling the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Because of the interrelatedness between

oppressions based on gender and those based on sexuality, the film festival

will showcase works addressing these issues, in the South Asian context. The

film-screenings will include discussions of thethemes raised.

The screenings will start at 6.30 pm all days, and will be held at

Alliance-Francaise' auditorium at 40/New24 College Road, Chennai 600 006. For

directions or more information email saathii@... with the words 'Chennai
