Dermatomyositis

I was diagnosed with dermatomyositis over 4 years ago and I am on medication

therapy, which has kept the symptoms in remission. I have not heard anything

about alternative treatments. How severe have your symptoms been and what are

the changes you have

noticed since you have eliminated dairy and wheat from your diet?

Child with Restless Leg Syndrome

Hi Debbie, I too have Restless Leg Syndrome and can track it back to childhood -

legs and arms. I'm taking a new test drug called pramipexole. It works great. No

Human growth hormone for children

I need information about the treatment of a very small five year old who has not

grown in the past year. How effective is human growth hormone for this

situation and what are the side effects for a child? She weighs 30 pounds.

Hepatitis B shot

Hello, How are you? I recently found out that my brothers future wife has

Hepatitis B.I received the series of shots about ten years ago. Do you have any

idea how long the shots are good for? Please reply, my daughter is pregnant and

I need to know

Reactive attachment disorder

Your son sounds like he has some typical 2 year old behavior. I'm not saying he

doesn't have RAD. I've no experience with RAD, but I have had 8 children and

some of them became very anti-social from about 19 months to 3 years. They

finally pulled out of

it and are wonderful kids. They were just strong willed. I have also had very

sweet 2 year olds. I was with a 2 1/2 year old for a week the other day and she

would let me do things for her but not her mother. She had a sweet smile for me

and anger towards

her mother. I am sure she will get over it.

Chronic neck pain

I am a 46 year old female who has had 2 neck surgeries levelC-4- with bone graft

and plating. I still have such awful pain. I have been on all kinds of pain meds

and therapy. I still have no relief. The doctors I have seen have suggested more

surgery to

stabilize my neck more and epidural shots. Any help out there?

Episcleritis

I have had episcleritis for about three years. Doctors say the only treatment

would be steroids that would have glaucoma as a side effect. I am so tired of

having a red eye every two to three weeks for a period of about ten days. Any

suggestions?

Dilantin Toxicity

I was given Dilantin 5 years ago for a seizure. Not long after I started taking

it, I developed a high fever and body rash. I am allergic to more than a dozen

medications now and still continue to be that way. I was told by an allergist

that Dilantin

changed my immune system and that is the reason for the allergies. I am

wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

Sydenham's Chorea

My daughter had rheaumatic fever in 1996. Chorea was the only way we knew she

had it, as she doesn't get a sore throat with strep. She has been on penicillin

since 1996 and has had recurrences with the chorea. I would like to know if

there is any one else

that has experienced Sydenham's Chorea or has questions?

Polymyalgia Rheumatica

I hope you are feeling better by now. As for being too young, I suspect PMR

strikes younger than doctors think. I was 44 had an elevated ESR, pain, fatigue,

etc. Only the doctors did not have a name for it at that time (22 years ago).

Last year, it

happened again. I had a sedimentation rate of 100, and have been on Prednisone

since then.

The sedimentation rate goes up when they try to taper it. The pain is bad, but I

find the fatigue worse. I would appreciate suggestions on how to cope with the

fatigue.

Gall bladder trouble or acid reflux?

I have been experiencing pain in chest and being bloated after eating and during

sleep at night. I usually feel this around 10:30pm until the morning. I went

to the emergency room during the night and was diagnosed with acid reflux, but

the medication

doesn't seem to be working. I also changed my eating to a bland diet. Nothing

seems to help. How do I know if this is acid reflux or gall bladder?

Is there something else that could be going on that I do not know?

If anyone has insight or info about either of these two names, please write.

Cytomegalovirus

I am now 12 weeks pregnant. I have done my blood tests and found out that I have

positive Cytomegalovirus in IGM and IGG. What are the risks for the baby? What

precautions should I take and are there any treatments? Thanks for your reply.
