POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - DIRECTOR, R.A.T.N.E.I, Patna (India)

IHO, a USA-based NGO focused upon health and rural development in South Asia,

India in particular, is looking for a dynamic and proactive doctor with a

successful track-record of managing health/ AIDS projects to take up the role of

Director, Regional AIDS Training Center in Patna, India.

IHO has established a Regional AIDS Training and Network for Eastern India

(RATNEI) to train medical and non-medical health sector personnel in all subject

areas pertaining to HIV/AIDS. Training will be provided by Indian and US faculty

at RATNEI site in Patna, India.

The RATNEI Director will coordinate ALL aspects of this training and

establishing the center and the network including but not limited to –

developing curriculum, engaging faculty to provide these trainings, recruit

public and private sector participants for these courses, coordinate this

training program with state and central government offices in India, conduct

evaluation, manage day-today affairs of the center, submit monthly and periodic

reports, procure domestic and international funds for this program, and any and

all other responsibilities inherent in this position.

The RATNEI director will also ex officio function as IHO's medical director in

Patna/India.

Requirements: The candidate should be a mid-career, person who preferably:

• Is a Medical Doctor (MBBS);

• Experience in preventive medicine/public health programs;

• Is well versed with the health sector programs at government and

non-governmental organizations;

• Has experience in providing and coordinating training in health areas,

preferably AIDS programs;

• Understands how NGOs are funded and how to procure funding for health

programs;

• Has prior experience of working on AIDS programs;

• Is very fluent in English (and other Indian languages);

• Will sign a legal contract to work in this position for RATNEI for at least

two years.

Salary: The salary is very flexible, competitive, and negotiable based upon an

individual's qualification and experience. The position is available on a

The candidate will be based at IHO office in Patna, India and may be

occasionally required to travel to other parts of the country. The candidate's

sole criteria for performance will be the successful implementation of this

training program. He/she will work under the supervision of IHO Director in

Patna and RATNEI India Advisor in New Delhi.

The position is available IMMEDIATELY. Candidates are eligible to work on

deputation from government/NGO agencies.
