Guest guest
My Breezy loves all salty things. She loves shrimp, taquitos, corn ships with salsa. She really does not like sweets with the exception of Little Debbie oatmeal cookies and vanilla ices cream sandwiches. She drinks Dr. Pepper as her fav soda. She is a real lover of Chinese food. I think that she makes some good selections when we eat out she loves salad and veggies. But then again it is with ranch dressing. So there you go. Have a blessed day, Gwen

Guest guest
Hi That is interesting. But some people are diabetics and never ate sweets in their whole life! And some people have panic attacks and never worried about anything in their whole life! Sometimes I believe it is just the way our bodies are made up. Of course, as we found out with , so many things have gluten in them. Even shampoo, bubble bath, envelopes, postage stamps, etc. The only kind of chips he can eat are plain Lays. And the only candy is Snickers, gummy worms, and Skittles. All the rest have gluten according to our dietician. And you probably know of cross contamination. can eat an egg, but if the egg has even touched a piece of toast or bread, it has been contaminated and contains gluten! It's a challenge but what has worked best for (he has gained 22 lbs. and got over the chronic anemia which came with the celiac) is strict meat, fruit, vegetables, and some dairy. Have a great day. And everyone out there, if your child or someone else you know has celiac, the only treatment is diet. It does not go away otherwise and there are no medications for it. Dad to , Kristi, and (all three Down syndrome and with 12 different diagnoses) and (Cri du chat and 5 different neurological diagnoses) Husband to C. in Mo. Uncle Daddy to and in Calif. (Down syndrome) Re: Interesting research opportunity > > I did always think of amanda as the queen of chips- but give her a piece of > chocolate.... > > ya know something interesting- even though she has celiac disease with an > allergy to wheat and gluten, she never ate bread or pizza in her whole life. Guest guest
Isaac definitely prefers salty.....anything with ketchup......and the occasional handful of M & M's or plain Hershey's chocolate. He is still a very picky eater, eating only a limited amount of items, but school lunch is helping change that since he sees his peers eating different foods. -Jill Mom to , Lydia & Isaac (6, DS) Re: Interesting research opportunity > I received a notice today from Kennedy Krieger that they are conducting a > study on food preferences and children with a seizure disorder. Guest guest
Apparently not....Noah will make ketchup sandwiches one after another if I'm not monitoring the kitchen. A " hotdog " is long bun and ketchup, a " hamburger " is round bun and...ketchup! Meat does NOT cross his lips. He also never met a donut that wasn't calling his name, loves pizza and ice cream so he doesn't lean either way. Sadly, he has to have another tooth pulled this morning (abscessed molar, PLEASE don't say another word about how kids with DS don't get cavities!!!!!) Every morning when he jumps out of the car at school he tells me the day of the week. The only thing he will eat at school is Pizza, and they have it on Fridays, so he always says, " Friday, Pizza day! " I didn't have the heart to tell him he wouldn't be eating pizza for lunch today...:-( Please pray for his peace and understanding at the dentist today, and for compassion and gentle hands for all who will work on him. thanks Karla in Texas RE: Interesting research opportunity Hey Jan, Is it an Australian " thing " ????
